Good morning!  I hope spring is progressing as it should where you live as it’s been kind of slow to arrive here, with lots of teasers and false starts.  Nothing unusual for Calgary, though.  Today I am joining 15 other very talented table stylists in a Spring/Easter blog hop hosted by the fabulous Rita from Panoply.  Thank you Rita!  I hope you are inspired by all the wonderful creativity in this blog hop and the links to the other stylists’ tables can be found at the end of this post.

The inspiration for this table started with a beautiful Easter bunny serving tray from Williams Sonoma.  My birthday always falls around Easter, and occasionally, it falls on Easter day like it did in 2022.  That was the birthday that youngest son and DIL gifted me this tray.  I recognized it right away as being from the Williams Sonoma Floral Meadow collection and for which I had been secretly proud of myself for resisting.

I was thrilled with it, especially since I didn’t have an Easter tray and I set about finding the appetizer plates that went with it.  They had been discontinued in the store by then and despite an intensive online search, I was only able to locate 4 of the appy plates.  And after that, I just kind of forgot about it.  Fast forward 8+ months to Christmas morning when what to my wondering eye should appear, but six bunny plates (and of course some reindeer).  Youngest son and DIL were apparently pleased with my reaction to the tray.  He said that they went back to WS the very next day, bought the plates, and stored them in their closet until Christmas.  On the far left, you might just be able to make out some bunny ears on the edge of two tea towels that they gifted me too.

I decided that if this set was to be our new Easter setting, I would have to add a few more places to accommodate everyone.  Luckily, the plates had not yet been discontinued and the four extra place settings that I found are what I’m sharing today.  So much for that resolve…

I chose four wreath dinner plates like this…

And a set of four different salad plates:

I set them on white basket-weave charger plates and added blue gingham napkins and ivory flowered napkin rings.

For the glassware, I used my gold-rimmed blue wine glasses and painted wild flower champagne glasses.

Gold rimmed flatware accents the gold rim on the plates and on the wine glasses.

In the center of the table, I laid the two tea towels end to end to make a table runner – they were way too pretty to  dry dishes with.

For the centerpiece, a bunny rabbit vase holds purple, turquoise, and green tulips and some white and purple lavender stems.  I love it when Michaels takes some artistic license with their faux flowers – at least I’ve never seen real turquoise and green tulips…

But the tulip colors do help camouflage Mr. Bunny should he decide he needs to lay low until things blow over with Mr. McGregor.

I found these two brown bunnies at Michaels this year and they reminded me of the two bunnies on the end of the tea towels.  They are carefully guarding the alabaster Easter eggs.  Such a cheeky smile.

They are singing the blues because there are so many shades of blue on the table and none of them match lol.

Every bunny needs some bunny.

Bunny love.

For our Easter dinner, I will move this tablesetting into the dining room and set the kitchen table with the six other bunny plates.  Then we will draw “K’s” (kitchen) and “D”‘s (dining room) to decide who sits where, as we always do.  On that note, happy spring and wishing everyone a beautiful and joyous Easter!

  1. Kim, how fun that your son and Daughter in law saw the excitement of your earlier gift and went back to get the plates to match!!! That is good gift giving!!! The plates are adorable and I love the matching wreath plates! We do have bunnies from the same family!!! They look adorable on your table. I love your blue check napkins they go perfectly with your plates and tea towels. So cute!! I hope you have a wonderful spring and Easter!🐇🌷🌱

  2. Gorgeous! What a beautiful table, the dishes are dreamy and the blues are just perfect for spring. I love the gingham accents and the bunnies you found are such whimsical accents. It’s almost too pretty to eat at…almost!! Happy Easter!

  3. Kim, I am so happy that you were able to collect the WS bunny plate setting. They are gorgeous and so darn cute. I can see why you wanted them and I would not have been able to resist. Or definitely, I would have stopped at just the appetitzer plate. Your son and DIL were so thoughtful to be able to gift them to you knowing how much you loved them. You enhanced the dinnerware beautifully with the blue and white gingham. It makes the purples, blues and greens really pop from the plates. And who can’t resist the sweet bunnnies that you purchased to match those in the plates and towels. (Yes, they are too pretty to use as a towel and I love them as a runner. Your table is so serene yet so playful. I hope you and your family will enjoy it this season and many more. Happy Easter

  4. Good morning Kim, I love your beautiful table with bunnies that sings the blues! I have a set of 4 bunny salad plates in the Floral Meadow pattern which I love, none of the wreath dinner plates or table runner…so pretty! Kudos to your son and DIL on their Christmas shopping! I love the whimsy of the turquoise and green tulips in your pretty bunny footed vase. I had to chuckle at: “But the tulip colors do help camouflage Mr. Bunny should he decide he needs to lay low until things blow over with Mr. McGregor.” 😊 Your pair of bunnies are so charming, I noticed Ann had them at her table too…great minds tablescape alike! 🍽️ Beautiful blue goblets and floral flutes and I love bird’s eye view of your table! As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you, Happy April! 🐰🌷🐇💙

  5. Kim, this table is the perfect example of total charm. I feel as if I’m one of those bunnies hopping among the wildflowers. Love the dish set your son and DIL gifted you. The blue stems and checked napkins are perfect. Your bunnies make me want to join in and frolic across this darling table. Happy Spring! Happy Easter!

  6. Kim, I know your kids are happy to see you enjoying their gift so much! The plates are beautiful and cast a lovely spell for springtime tables. (Confession – I have the salad plates and I’m now wishing I had gotten the dinner plates too.) I love all the shades of blue — they harmonize beautifully! The blue stemware is striking and I’m absolutely entranced by the flowered champagne flutes. And as far as I’m concerned you can never have too many bunnies.

  7. Kim, those plates are so darling gifted to you by your family. Loving the blue, especially the gingham napkins with the white napkin rings. The bunnies are adorable, the bunny centerpiece is so fun and whimsical filled with blue and white flowers. The blue goblets are a nice addition to. Always a pleasure hopping along with you.
