Good morning!!
I hope everyone is having a wonderful fall and that many are enjoying the cooler temperatures. Fall is usually a short season in Calgary and we have already had our first snow; it rarely stays at this time of year (thankful for that) and that’s pretty much normal for here. But we have moved beyond sweater weather and we are definitely into socks and heavier coats – at least in the morning.
Today I am joining 16 very talented ladies for a Thanksgiving blog hop, hosted by the lovely Rita from Panoply. Thank you Rita! I love Thanksgiving – not only is it a time to gather with friends and family, it is also a time to take a moment and count one’s blessings. I know I have much to be thankful for no matter when the day is celebrated. You will find the links to all to all the other tablescapes at the end of the post. Please check them out as you as sure to be inspired!
I came across this white, gold, and silver beaded sunflower table topper late this summer as HomeSense was bringing out their fall inventory. No, I certainly don’t need another beaded table topper but I’m such a pushover for all things sparkly… It formed the basis for this thanksgiving table. Plus, I was sure that I already had everything else I needed to create a table in my stash.
On the topper is Mr. Pheasant – a forgotten surprise that we found as we packed up the garage in our old place. He was a clearance item from WS and at 70% off, I had no hesitations about taking him off their hands. He is surrounded by speckled glass and velvet pumpkins. Simple, but nothing more was needed.
The plate stack started with these metallic gold thankful salad plates with oak leaves and acorns. I’m not sure how long I’ve had them but it seems like a long time.
The dinner plate is Mikasa Antique White and sits on a sparkly gold charger.
Flatware is Pfaltzgraff with gold beading around the edge. I did some googling and I think the pattern is Newcastle. I no longer remember where it came from.
Stemware is Bohemian crystal water goblets and gold metallic leaf wine glasses. I inherited the latter from my mom when she first downsized a couple of years ago. If I had to guess, I’d say that they’re probably from Pier 1.
White pompom napkins are encased by a gold leaf pumpkin.
I’m still experimenting with the lighting in this kitchen. Below are two photos – one in sunlight and one in artificial light. I know which one I like better but it might not always be an option…
And on that note, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Ongoing thoughts and prayers for all those that have been affected by Hurricane Helene and Milton.
